To coordinate our service and construction schedules and manage payroll for our employees.

I love the opportunity to help homeowners accomplish their backyard dreams, by giving them my complete dedication.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working at Mermaid?
Play golf, go with family to our kids’ activities, hang out at the pool with my friends and neighbors, possibly with a beverage.
What would you like our customers to know about you that they might not know now?
I am a former college baseball player. I graduated from Ball State with a degree in Athletic Administration to become a coach or administrator – not a pool boy!

What are your responsibilities at Mermaid?
To manage daily operations for mermaid pools, staff training, new hire development, assist in event planning & marketing, and ordering.
What do you like about Mermaid Pool Spa & Patio?
That it is a family oriented business, and that I am able to enjoy what I do. I enjoy developing relationships with customers and facing different challenges every day. Most importantly, I enjoy my staff!
What do you like to do when you aren’t working at Mermaid?
I like to spend time with my wife Karlyn, and three children Clara, Elias and Molly. My favorite hobbies are playing fantasy football and tennis.
What would you like our customers to know about you that they might not know now?
I am a die hard Kansas City Chiefs fan and season ticket holder – a self proclaimed “parrothead”! I am a music junkie and I love going to live concerts!

What are your responsibilities at Mermaid?
Running service department, pool renovations and maintenance. Helping our customers with any problems that can arise. Try and track down the weird hard to find parts!
What do you like about Mermaid Pool Spa & Patio?
Family atmosphere, great co-workers, always know where the best pool parties are in Anderson, everyday feels like summer in the store!
What do you like to do when you aren’t working at Mermaid?
Spend time with the family, play tennis, watch sports, go on outdoor adventures and camp with my family, cooking on a Big Green Egg

I like that I work with good, honest people that keep what’s best in mind for the customer. The Murrs are good to their employees and good to work for.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working at Mermaid?
I like to fish, hunt, take the family to church and parks. Spend as much quality time with the family as possible.
What would you like our customers to know that they might not already know?
I’m a Christian. I’m honest and fair and try to be considerate to others. I always treat people the way I would like to be treated. I’m known in the shop as the human ‘pool GPS’, anytime someone needs to know where a pool in Madison or Delaware county is I can get them there!

What are your responsibilities at Mermaid?
Owner, pool installation, service work, fireman, bill payer, peace keeper, maintenance person.
What do you like about Mermaid Pool Spa & Patio?
Every day is a different challenge and set of circumstances. Many risks are involved but I like calculated risk taking. There is also a surge of pride in a job completed and work done. There is a choice of jobs and you can accomplish as much as your time spent will allow.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working at Mermaid?
Family and grandchildren take up much of my time away from work. I enjoy all sports, both participating and watching. I like to fish when time allows and to work around the home (both interior and exterior). We especially like to travel with our family and friends and go boating in southern Indiana.
What would you like our customers to know about you that they might not know now?
I am a retired educator (ACSC 34 years). I am not a union president or city council member. I actually work in the pool business daily with the rest of the family and our valued employees.

It’s different every day … never boring.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working at Mermaid?
Bird watching, gardening, spending time with my grandchildren. I’m also an active member of the APSP Retail Council, the Anderson Chamber of Commerce, Rotary International, the Greater Anderson Business Club, and Women in Business – all of which I have held board positions. I’m active in the Ball State University Cardinal Varsity Club as well.

I am a cancer survivor!!
